Question
Is it realistic for me to expect to fight twice as week as a amateur or pro boxer?

Answer
Hi James,
Thanks for the question. The answer is "not really."
Per USA Boxing rules, boxers are prohibited from competing more than twice in any seven day period, except for in a tournament setting. The likelihood of competing that often is restricted by the availability of boxing events, and compatible opponents, too.
In the pros, that would also be extremely rare. Promoters often do seek opponents on short notice to fill out a card, but there are restrictions on that type of participation. Some veteran "journeyman" boxers have made it a practice to hop from place to place on a weekly basis to collect paychecks, but even in that circumstance it would be rare to see two bouts a week on a regular basis.
So again, to address the portion of your question that deals with being "realistic," I'd have to say not really.

I hope this helps, James.
Thanks again for writing!

Regards,
Lian
