Question
How does one go about becoming a boxing ref? I am interested in starting small and working my way up.

Answer
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the question.
By "starting small," I'm assuming you mean starting in the amateur program (which I recommend).
You'll need to get in touch with your USA Boxing Local Boxing Committee (LBC) and register as a non-athlete, then interact with the local chief-of-officials to begin a training regimen.
You didn't provide me with your location, but you can find your LBC and contact info for registration at www.usaboxing.com.
If you have trouble navigating the site, let me know, or check among the questions I've answered in the past on this topic...some contain links.
Once you get involved as an official at the local level (which will likely involve training as a judge, clerk and timekeeper as well), you may be in a better position to assess your desire and ability to move to a different level.
I hope this helps, Chris.
Thanks again for writing!
Regards,
Lian
