Question
Can you tell me if there is any information on a Russian-hosted boxing turnament which took place around 1916.  It seems they did not have the Olympics that year due to WW 1 going on.  My Great Uncle Leonard Robinson was supposed to have won in his weight group.  Our family is trying to dig up some info on this.
Thank you very much for your kind assitance. I realize this is not an easy question.

Answer
Hi Dave,

Thanks for the question.

I've looked around for a few days, but I've not been able to locate any information on such a tournament. Finding amateur boxing results is very challenging in and of itself, but that combined with a Russian tournament almost a hundred years ago makes it a very daunting task indeed. Among other avenudes of inquiry, I went to www.boxrec.com and entered your great uncle's name. This returned a few results, but none that matched the time your Leonard Robinson would have been an active boxer.

I'm sorry I couldn't help with this one, Dave, but maybe I can be of assistance at some time in the future.

Thanks again for writing!
Regards,

Lian
