Boxing/Good age to start boxing training

Question
I have a 5 yr old son that loves boxing, what would be a good age to start training him to see if this is what he really likes?
Hi Claudia, You can start boxing at age 8... and they are always the most fun to watch....the crowd loves them because the gloves are so big they cant really hurt each other but they give it all they've got and usually dont stop punching for most of the match.... its also a very good sport to teach kids motivation, respect, good sportsmanship and the rewards that come from all three if they are practiced regularly....
I highly recommend finding a golden gloves for him to train at once he becomes old enough.... they have the best trainers and safety is of the highest concern...

In the mid 90's I became a trainer for Golden Gloves. I train amateur and pro fighters. I have worked in many corners at USA and Golden Glove tournaments. I have worked corners in pro bouts on HBO and ESPN cards. My friend, boss and coach is the former President of Golden Gloves and I trained under his tutelage.
