Boxing/Hanging a Heavy Bag

Question
Hello.  I have a question about hanging heavy bag. I currently have a 75# bag hanging from the rafters in my garage, secured by an I bolt.  I will have to relocate due to work and we will probably be living in apartments for a while.  I would really like to continue using a heavy bag in my workouts.  Here is my question:
Would hanging the bag on an I bolt secured in the top part of a doorway (either wood or plaster) or to a pull-up bar in a doorway be an effective option or is this bag too heavy for such a set up?  Thanks in advance for the help.

Answer
E,

I can't guarantee you anything because I don't know how the frame was built around the door....usually there are two 2x4's double on top of each other over the door frame which should hold a 75lb bag ... although you have to remember that when you hit it, it's going to make a lot of noise...I definately wouldn't secure it to any plaster or drywall even if you could hit a stud...too risky in an apartment...
if your complex has one of those exercise rooms, you might talk to the landlord into letting you hang it in there...it would be worth hauling down there to be able to hit it freely with no worries....

good luck,
