Boxing/Heavy Bag Wall Mount

Question
Alan,

I am looking for a heavy bag wall mount that would be able to fit a cinder
block stud approx 10 inches wide.  Due to the unique configuration of the
wall, the standard 16 inch set-up will not fit my wall.

Thanks,

Justin

Answer
Hi Justin,

My first thought in your statement is "cinder block stud", and I can't really imagine what you mean exactly. Studs are usually wood that run vertically, and if they are only 10 inches apart, then you could run a parallel 2x4 across three studs, covering 20 inches of distance. With several of these in place, your could attach the standard 16 inch setup to the 2x4's using longer screws or bolts to go threw the wood into the wall.
Are you sure one of these won't fit??

My last thought would be, if you're wall just use any standard setup equipment, you may to go "renegade" and make your own design, or customize the setup, such as crossing a room corner with a top brace somehow and hanging the Heavybag in the corner. I did that years ago in a spare bedroom.

I'm not sure this helps you, but there has to be a way to somehow hang a bag in your area. Good luck.
