Answer
Hi Alex,

they size, weight and type of heavy bag you use really depends on several things, such as where you would hang it, how much you weigh, how many people will be using it and how YOU intend to use it. If you're going to use it by yourself for punching only, than I would say a 70,80 to 100 lb bag would be fine. But if you weigh, say 250, are 6ft 7in and hit like a mack truck, you might need a 150lb. or heavier bag. I don't know of any strict rule of thumb about that. It is a matter of choice, but I would select one of softer material that protects the hands better. If you are going to be kicking the bag a lot, I would go with a heavier 120lb or more bag, since kicks can send the lighter bags flying.

good luck with your choice.

sincerely,
