Hello
I have a basic home speedbag platform with a Ringside swivel (not the s hook).  The platform is old (that junky presswood stuff), and I think that is slowing the rebound of the bag.  Do you have any advice for attaching a new surface (better wood, plastic laminate, etc) so that I can get a quicker rebound.  I'm pretty good with the bag and I need more speed.

Hi Dave,

I have replaced the presswood with higher density 24-inch "dowels" or "coffee table" tops from Home Depot and Lowes.  It is usually in the unfinished lumber area and may be made of plywood or hardwood, depending on how much you want to spend. they also have 36 inch across boards but these would be too heavy for my home wall from hangers.

I take the lousy presswood board and lay it over the top of the new 24 inch board. I drill the presswood board through the new board so they will line up with the metal hangers. They all match.  I have done this several times with excellent results. I hope it will work for you, too.
