Question
Alan, I have a question that really doesn't utilize your expertise but i can't find a clear cut answer anywhere.  "Is Roy Jones Jr. a righty or a lefty?"  If you could give me your answer and why this might be disputed, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks, Kevin

Answer
Hi Kevin,

I think he fights standard, or "righty" just because most fight pictures I have seen him in, and the few fights of his I have seen, normally have him in the standard left leg front, Left Jab, Left Hook, Right STraight punch position.

Here he is in the last fight with Glen Johnson. Roy Jones is in Black Trunks and Red stripe.

Here are a few more, with the same stance.

I hope this helps. It might be disputed for a couple of reasons. Perhaps he changes to a "southpaw" stance during a fight, or perhaps he is just naturally left handed, but chose to fight from the classic stance.

Other than that, I can't imagine why there would be a controvery. Thanks for your question!

sincerely,
