Question
I am naturaly left handed do you know the traditional boxing stance for a south paw and do southpaws have an avantage in the ring with a right handed boxer? I might do boxing. Thanks for the help

Justin

Answer
hi justin,  actually you have quite an advantage as a lefty against a righty. Most righthanders train against other righty's, so when they fight a lefty everything is coming in at a different angle and it conpletely throws off their game. For instance, where a righty's jab is coming from is the same place a lefty's straight left is coming from and now it's a power punch. Plus a righty normally should move away from a righty's power hand but on a lefty you would be moving into his power hand.

The stance has your right foot forward and left foot is back (not directly behind the right, but slighty cheating towards the right) ...your chin is tucked in between your shoulders with your right hand slightly below your right eye about 3 inches away from you face...your lefthand is planted on the side of your left jaw, fingers facing you jaw...you are on the balls of your feet all the time

you should give it a try, sounds like you already know your way around a bit...just remember you'll have a advantage just stepping into the ring.
thanks, very good question,
