Question
Hi there,
I'm 23 nearly 24. I'm in the army and wish to stay in but i would also like to turn pro at the same time. Firstly would you recommend that?. I am in experienced i have had 4 fights. I lost my first two fights on split decision. very unlucky not to win them. my third was a convincing loss where i was battered by a boxer who had a wealth of experience. When I lost that I swore I would never box again but the regiment boxing team coach persuaded me to start again and he thinks very highly of me. I went on and may 06 we fought the N Irish police and I won in the 1st. It was brill. I want to do the army individuals in April 08 hopefully get in the army team then after two years turn pro. I know I'm too old to win any titles or make a name for myself but I want to do it and earn a bit of money doing something I love.  What do you think

Answer
Hi Wayne - Four bouts is not enough experience to turn pro.  You should have at least two or three years of competition. I think it would be a good idea for you to try and make the Army team and box for them until you have the experience you need. I also hope you realize that you won't make enough money as a pro to have that be your only source of income.  You need to stick with your day job.  8-)

Am I correct in guessing that you do not live in the United States?
