How are certified USA Boxing officials chosen to work major tournaments such as the U.S. Championships, National Golden Gloves, etc.?

Thanks for the question.
Once an official has attained the proper certification level,  and a recommendation from the local chief-of-officials, he or she is eligible to work a national tournament of the type you described. The actual assignments at that national tournament would be determined by the Chief-of-Officials for that tournament. For more info on certification levels and requirements, you can go to www.usaboxing.org and click on "rulebook." You can also go to the same site and contact the national office to have your questions answered directly by a person.
