Question
I want to know were the border between Heawyweight and Super Heawyweight goes in amateur boxing?

Iam 6´3 and weights ca 206 punds and 18 years old i am starting my amateur career in the end of this year and is going down to heawyweight.

Answer
Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the question.

The heavyweight limit in amateur boxing is 201 pounds. All athletes above that weight are Super Heavyweights.

You can view the entire USA Boxing rulebook online at www.usaboxing.org.
It has all the weight divisions and technical rules for amateur boxing.

I hope this helps!

Thanks again for writing :)

Regards,
Lian

I can answer questions regarding rules for both pro and amateur boxing; upcoming bouts; fight analysis/predictions; various other questions. I am an experienced amateur boxing official with USA Boxing (14 years) and I have completed a yearlong professional officials` clinic with the California State Athletic Commission.
