Question
H, im 19 yrs old, 5"6 and 148lbs. I just joined a boxing club on long island, been there one week. its pretty awesome, at the moment im having trouble getting my basic techniques right because i use to have a heavy bag at home for a year b4 i went to the club and i developed bad habbits. but my coach told me i gotta stop lifting weights. is that true?? i greatly reduced what i use to do but do all boxers have to not lift weights ??

Answer
It is always the smart move to listen to your trainer.  I am not that familiar with your body type or what you need to learn as far as boxing goes.  Me personally believe in the incorporation of weights with boxing.  I want my fighters to have the advantage in every category including strength.  All trainers have different ways.  You need to find a trainer that works well for you and that you show progress towards achieving your goal.  Some trainers believe in weight training and some do not.
