Question
Hi I am 23 and started to do martial arts at 20 and have been training ever since then. I have recently started training in boxing and would like to enter amateur boxing, is it too late at the age of 23 or 24?

p.s. I am ok with the speed ball however I cannot skip! do you really need to skip in amateur?

Answer
You might be too old to consider boxing in the Olympics, but certainly not for local or national competition.  You must be registered with USA Boxing and have a coach who is both registered with and certified by USA Boxing work your corner.  Please email me at mel@amateurboxing.com and I will give you a contact in your area.  Please let me know what city and state you live in.
