Question
I live in Tennessee & would like to know who to contact about training to become a certified ring judge. I love the sport but have no experience. any/all information is appreciated...best regards

Answer
Hi Denny,

Thanks for the question.

Are you referring to amateur boxing, or professional?
Assuming you mean the amateur route since you have no experience, the first thing you need to do is get in touch with your USA Boxing Local Boxing Committee (LBC). To find such contact information, go to www.usaboxing.org and follow the Membership links to locate your geographic area. There, you'll find contact information for a local registration person who can put you in touch with the Chief-of-Officials in your area.
You'll need to register with USA Boxing and spend some time reading up on the rules and practicing, and there are certification tests, but it's all very rewarding work, and your service is invaluable to the local boxing program.

I hope this helps, Denny.

Thanks again for writing!

Regards,
Lian
