Question
Hi Lian--thank you for taking my question!  When I watch boxing on ESPN2, they have the past decisions listed for the boxers.  What does "BY" mean on the TKO and KO listings?  Thanks!!  Pat

Answer
Hi Pat,
Thanks for the question.
"KO by" and "TKO by" mean that the boxer whose record you are viewing was KO'd or TKO'd by his or her opponent in that bout.
For example, on Mike Tyson's record, his bout with Lennox Lewis would read as follows: "Lennox Lewis - KO by 8"
which indicates that Tyson was KO'd BY Lewis in the eighth round.
I hope that helps!
Thanks again for writing, Pat.
Regards,

Lian
