Question
Hello, im wondering i here people saying such and such is the best pound for pound fighter what does pound for pound mean........

Answer
Hi breeze,
Thanks for the question.
Pound- for-Pound is a term used to compare boxers without considering differences in weight. For example, if you were to consider who is the hardest puncher in boxing, invariably that distinction would go to a heavyweight, since they are the biggest. However, if you consider who is the hardest puncher "pound-for-pound," you throw it open to all boxers. One could argue that Manny Pacquiao (130 lbs.) is a harder puncher, pound-for-pound, than Shannon Briggs (270 lbs.), given their effectiveness in their respective weight divisions.

I hope this helps, breeze.
Thanks again for writing.
Regards,
Lian
