Ive had 6 instructors so far.. they have all been 'private' instructors at their home gyms mostly. and also i am part of a group that meets 2x a week at the hollywood gym to spar and drill with eachother... i want to have at least one amateur bout and see how i do and 'where im at', and then go from there..  thanks!

hi, ive been boxing for about 5 years, and want to try my luck at amateur boxing, but so far no one can give me a clear answer as to WHO or WHERE i need to go to get my amateur boxing license in los angeles! im hoping to enter something in december so any help would be appreciated! thanks!

You can register at any local show.  Go to www.amateurboxing.com, click on the "Events" button on the left side, scroll to the "Southern California Assn." link and find a show that is convenient for you.  You will need 2 passport-type pictures and your birth certificate.  If you register before 12/31/06, the cost is $20 but your membership will have to be renewed 1/1/07 or after at the regular calendar year amount of $40.00.
