Question
Hi, i am conserned about boxings future, is it fading? in school a very small amount of people watch boxing. i just want to know if you think this decline is going to continue, was there a decline between after marciano, and was there a decline before tyson but after ali?
thanks.

Answer
Hi Sultan,  yes, boxing has faded. The heavyweight division normally is the driving force in boxing and right now the people simply do not have a champion. Boxing has to be marketable to be successful and you need a good guy and a bad guy. It's like a show, except it's real, but you have to make it entertaining. The Tyson/Holyfield fight would not have been as successful if Tyson had not blazed the badboy trail to the fight. I don't condone his actions at all but the element of good versus bad sold a lot of tickets.
If we can get a solid heavyweight champ back I think boxing will make a comeback.
thanks for the good question
