Boxing/double bag

Question
I have a double bag hung in my garage and that has two bungy cords attached to it. I want to know the best way to hang it or the right way to hang it. I am a beginner and I read were you can do slips with a double bag but with bag hung with two bungy cords it is almost impossible to do any kind of slips since the bag moves to fast (or I just don't move fast). So do you have any ideas?
Thanks,
Fred

Answer
Hi Fred,  don't worry, you are not slow, ha... the bungy cords are too tight. You need longer cords to relieve the tension. Make sure you attach the cords so that bag is head high. Usually this means the bottom cord is longer than the top cord. Once you establish a rhythem and feel ready to pick up the speed, just tie a knot in one of the cords. Now, it is possible that your base attachments are too close together. The top base should be 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 feet high, otherwise lengthening the top cord will bring the bag down too low.

thanks for the question.... best of luck,

Jack
