i used an old long rucksack filled with sand to use for upper cuts and the best filling i found was 100% sharp sand and if that is to hard for your likeing try mixing it with some saw shavings a mixture to suit your needs and i find canvas potato bags are great or coll bags whichever is easiest to get a hold of and there are strong but you will have to duck tape them to stop any spillage

Carier bags make excellent filling, also allowing you to leave bag outside without stuffing rotting.

Drop a couple of smallish bags of sand in the bottom to give it ballast, make sure you pad plenty of bags around these.

The bags can be stuuffed tight but after a few heavy sessions you will find the need to add some more filling.

everlast super leather training bags are made by packing 6 layers of sand and cloth material (tshirts etc) you don't want a heavy bag where most of the filling settles on the bottom. this is the reason for the layers of sand and cloth.
