Boxing/How high should my punch bag hang?

Hi,
I am 5ft 9 inches tall and was wondering how high off the floor my heavy bag should be
Hi Steve,
I actually have no idea because heavy bags come in different sizes and lengths, and I don't know what yours is. I also don't know if you are going to be kicking as well as punching your bag, and you may want it lower for low kick practice.
But for punching, I believe you should set it so your straight punches contact just above the center of the bag about 2 inches or so. Watch the video here on Rossboxing.com site and notice where his hands hit the bag...
