ive recently decided to go back into my sambo kickboxing training and i live in an apartment on the basement floor so i cant hang my heavybag from the ceiling
i also don't feel like throwing out 300 bucks for a free standing frame so i was wondering if you know of any homemade stand diagrams i can follow to build my own?

Actually I do not know of any ready made home designs to build your own stand. I did that once by placing a 4x4 across a corner, so the bag hung right in front of the corner of a room. I had put some 2x4 blocks up on each wall to act as a shelf to hold the 4x4, then placed the 4x4 over them. It worked alright for a while until a spinning back kick put the bottom of the bag into the sheetrock.  So, I guess that design won't work.

A home made hanging system will really depend on your individual space available. you might ask around on some boxing or martial art forums, where a lot more folks have had experience doing that.
