Boxing/knock outs

Question
Hi

Could you please tell me what happens in the event that both boxers are knocked out?

Is the match declared null and void or does the fighter with the highest points at the time win?

Thanks.

Answer
Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the question.

A double-knockout is extremely rare. I've seen a few double knockdowns, but one or both boxers have always gotten up. In researching this question for you, I became aware of a few actual double knockouts, where both boxers were counted out. Those bouts were ruled to be technical draws (no one wins, no one loses).

I hope this helps, Lisa.
Thanks again for writing!

Regards,
Lian
