Question
I have been boxing for over 8 years and am finally trying to fight as an amateur and work my way up the ladder.I have no clue were to start off and who to register with.I'm from Dallas,Tx. and am planning to fight in the 6th annual Desert Showdown in California. How can i register for my state and the fight in California??? Any help pertaining to this question would be greately appreciated!!

Answer
Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the question.

To register with USA boxing, go to the following link and find your geographic area: http://www.usaboxing.org/90.htm

Once you find it, note the name of the local boxing committee (LBC...yours will be named something like Gulf Association, I think), and if there is not already a contact person provided there, then go to: http://www.usaboxing.org/10_1578.htm find the LBC name and contact the person listed there.
Your registration from your home LBC will be good in California as well. Just don't forget to bring the passbook you will be given when you regsiter!!

I hope this helps, Daniel.
Thanks again for writing!

Regards,
Lian
