Question
just wanted to know what the fastest speed bagging record was, or if there is one at all. And i'm also curious about my own speed, i've got a super speed everlast ballbearing swival and a small 6x9 everlast gyro bag, and to be honest i've never seen a vidio clip,tv, or movie of anyone faster than myself yet.  Last year I decided to vidio myself so that I could slow down the the visual in order to count the number of punches thrown in one minute, and it came to 290. i'm wondering if this is a high number, i've also become faster since then.

Answer
Hello Steve,

As far a an official speed bag record concerning who is "the fastest" ( recognized by Guinness? ). I don't know. I don't know of any speed bag record attempt based on speed, and quite frankly that would be very difficult to create. There are a lot of variables that would be very difficult to standardized so it was exactly the Same for each person. MANY things can effect bag performance and speed. Consider: Bag Size, bag material, type of bladder used, bag inflation, round surface used, swivel used, temperature and humidity of room, along with punching style that was used. It would be hard to make all of these variables standardized, provable and reproduceable. I'm not saying an event like this could not be staged, I'm just saying it would be very difficult to standardize the event.

As far as 290 punches in a minute on a 9x6 bag, that sounds impressive, but where that stands in relation to others I just don't know.

It's a great idea though. Pitch it to Guinness and see what they say..   http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/
