Question
Exactly what are the steps I need to become a licensed pro bozer?

What is the easiest pro circuit to get onto and which is the most prestigious for a light heavtweight?

What would get me into contention quickly?

Thank You so much

Best Wishes

Answer
Hi Rick,

Thanks for the questions.

You need to contact your state's athletic commission to inquire about specific steps toward attaining a professional boxing license. In general, you'll need to fill out an application (with the attendant fee, of course), as well as submit to a physical. Other steps will vary from state to state.

There are no real circuits in professional boxing; attaining prestige and rising in the ranks depends on numerous factors, some tangible and others not. Your actual ability, geographic location, amateur experience, promoter, trainer, manager, etc.  all play into a boxer's success. I'd recommend speaking with a professional boxing promoter or manager (along with your trainer) to get some specific tips about the boxing scene in your area.

You can probably find the contact information for the state athletic commission in the government section of the phone directory (white pages).

I hope this has been helpful, Rick.

Best wishes on your endeavor!

Regards,

Lian
