The Brady Bunch/Reed

Question
Was Robert Reed against the show the entire time, or just in its later stages?

Answer
Hi John
I truly believe Robert Reed was against the show from the start.  He didn't want to take the role initially because he thought TV was "beneath" him.  Robert Reed was a true thespian and professional actor, who had done many Broadway shows and top tier productions.  I believe as time went on Robert became more and more displeased with the role, and in the later stages, completely withdrew all together.  This is evident in the last episode, where he walked off the set and refused to film.  I also believe his struggle with his homosexuality also had an impact on his views of the show.  Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Chris

I have seen every episode of the Brady Bunch at least 100 times. I can tell which episode is coming just by the music that is played in the begining. I have every episode on tape and have never been stumped....Well never say never. I actually married a girl named Kathy Lawrence.
