Brain Tumors/glioblastoma

Question
I only know my brother had a glioblastoma tumor (malignant, sorry this may
be redundant) removed from brain, they could not get it all since it is so close
to the brain stem.  Don't know the grade?? i.e. 3, 4.  He previously had a
stroke and has severe left sided weakness, cannot walk well, cannot write or
move his left hand etc.  Dr. said this would not get better.  He is to have
chemo & radiation when his scars heal & in between the stroke and the brain
removal (3 months) he had a seizure so he cannot have chemo/radiation right
away.  He just got out of convalescent and is staying with our widowed mom
and has a 102 temp.  Just got out today.  My husband & I are about 500 miles
away but will be going out day after tomorrow.  Told my mom if temp
conntinues she will need to call 911 before we even get there--tonight
possibly even altho he was just released today.  Really just want confirmation
that life expectancy with this type of tumor  is as short as 3-4 months, as
long (reasonably speaking) as 2-3 years?  Do I need more info than I have
given you.
Best regards for your time and empathy in taking on these difficult questions.

Answer
A glioblastoma multiforme grade 4 has an expected survival time after therapy of at best not much more than a year but it can be MUCH shorter. A grade 3 MAY survive somewhat longer up to a little more than a couple of years but again it may be much shorter! I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you!
