Question
Hello,
My husband 61 years old was diagnosed with gbm brain tumor this past June 2008, He had the tumor removed, it was 2.7 cm.He was left paralyzed on his left side, slurred speech, could not swallow. His mind seems to wander, does not seem focused. He is presently getting radiation, 7 weeks total.
Will his mind ever get back to normal? He mumbles about the past and gets angry sometimes. I dont think he retains anything now. Will he be able to walk and feed himself?

Answer
Unfortunately probably not. Glioblastoma multiforme is a brain tumor with an extremely bad prognosis. Treatment, including surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy can unfortunately only slow the process down to some extent. That is all. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you!
