Question
Im 16 and had a brain tumor removed recently. The diagnosis was confused
between an ependymoma tumor and a pilocytic astroyoma. I was told by my
neurosurgeon that I had an ependymoma tumor in my left parietal lobe, and
a cystic (wall/mass?) that pressed on my occipital nerves, caused a lot of
swelling in my brain, and also expanded into my temporal lobe. Basically, I'm
confused between the two types of tumors. Also, I'm still experiencing a few
difficulties since my craniotomy: vision problems, cognitive issues, etc, and
was hoping you could explain, whether they will continue, and how the
tumor/ and different areas my brain that were effected contributed to these
problems. Thank you.

Answer
Are you able to provide me with the pathology report of your tumor? If you have access to it you can copy it here. But without it it is more or less impossible to answer at least parts of your question so in that case I do suggest that you ask for a meeting with your neurosurgeon in order to discuss these questions of yours!
