Question
Hi.. This is naveen. Yesterday, my mom undergone surgery for brain tumor. We have been told that, around 60% of the cells have been removed from the right portion of brain. But, they do not want to touch the left portion. The tumor has been sent for "BIOPSY". But I am not sure what will be the consequences of this. Can she able to recover totally. Before the surgery, almost there is no movement in left leg and hand.

Answer
If it has been sent for biopsy - that is for examination by a pathologist - that indicates that it was not known what kind of tumor this is. It can be either a benign (not cancer like, not so dangerous) or malignant (cancer like, dangerous) tumor. From your description it is unfortunately probable that it is malignant. Then there is also the question, if it is malignant, of its GRADE (= how much malignant it is). Grade goes from 1 to 4 (worst) and has to be determined by the pathologist too from the way the tumor looks in a microscope. If indeed it turns out to be malignant it is not probable unfortunately that she will recover. Please do keep me posted with regards to the results of the biopsy!
