Brain Tumors/Pain on left side of brain

Question
My husband all of a sudden developed this intense pain at the back of his head on the left side, for over a week now he has been in constant pain, he went to his doctor who asked for blood work before requesting a cat scan but in the meantime we are very concerned...aspirins or any other pain reliever does not help at all :( :( :(
Any ideas??? It's not his scalp, it's inside his head and he doesn't suffer from migraines

Answer
It seems to me his dr. has his priorities turned upside down since in this situation a CT or MRI scan of his head is much more important than any blood tests! Without any such scans it is impossible to know what it is or is not. Another important test would be a liquor test of the fluid his brain is floating in. But that test is not mentioned either so I suppose that that has not been thought of either. I think your husband should have gone directly to the nearest university hospital or big hospital emergency room. He would probably have received much better service there. If his pain is really intense and not helped by any pain relieving drugs that is the place to go to for quick advanced help.
With this much pain it seems to me that he is an emergency case anyway!
