Brain Tumors/grade 4 astrocytoma

Question
My father had a seizure in September, and we were told it there were 3 grade 2 amost grade 3 astrocytomas. By the time he had started his treatment a month later they had already become grade three, and then one was already a grade 4. He did the radiation and the temador and the tumors stalled in growth, but did not shrink. We have stopped the radiation, and he is doing two more rounds of the temador. The doctor has now said that once the tumors start developing again that it would be the matter of weeks before he would pass from this. My question is, since his tumors we were told are very aggressive in nature, how long is it normally for the tumrs to begin developing again?

Answer
That usually depends on the actual grade. A grade 4 develops faster than a grade 3 etc. A grade 4 tumor (single tumor) usually kills the victim within a year or so even with treatment. With several tumors the process is faster. So an "educated guess" here would be at most a few months. But it is uncertain. Tumors like patients are individuals not identical clones/copies.
