Brain Tumors/astrocytom

Question
My sisters husband has got astrocytoma in the frontalloob. It has just started to grow a little. What treatment do you suggest? Itīs 4x2,5 cm big. He has got tinnitus, headace and problem with his sight.

Answer
Is it known what grade it is? The usual treatment is a combination of surgery, radiation therapy and chemo therapy though that may to some degree be influenced by its grade. Its size makes it doubtful if an annihilation of the tumor radiologically with the GammaKnife (Leksells kula) would be possible. But that should be discussed with his neurosurgeon. His prognosis very much depends on the grade of his tumor.
