Question
My sister is diagnosed by central nervous system lymphoma following a brain surgery in March 2007. She had received 5 methotraxat and 2 alexin treatments. However by october she had developed a recurrence and by early November started 25 radiotherapy sessions which had ended in Dec the 14th. She is very tired until now and has some difficulty in walking. She needs to hold a hand as her legs are kind of week. Is this something related to her illness or is it a side effect of radiotheraphy.
thanks

Answer
Can actually be both. Radiation often causes a temporary brain swelling (like an internal sun burn). That can give neurological symptoms for a time. Only her drs. can after clinical examinations determine how much of her symptoms that probably may come from her disease and how much probably from her treatment.
