Question
QUESTION: I am a 27 year old woman and had a brain tumour removed from the left side of my head.  The name of the tumour was called an astroblastoma.  I am currently receiving a six weeks course of radiotherapy.  Do you have any information on this type of tumour?

Many thanks
Anne-Marie

ANSWER: Yes, what you are receiving is standard treatment. Has chemo therapy been discussed too? What grade is your tumor?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Chemo therapy has not been discussed, ive been told that this is a very rare tumour.  The consultant advised me that this tumour is an active tumour which is probably a grade 2.

Answer
I see, yes it is. If indeed it is a low grade tumor (grade 1 to 2) you can probably live for many years after treatment. High grade tumors (grade 3 to 4) have a worse prognosis. That is all I can tell you based on the information you have provided. If possible send me (by scanning, copying & pasting) your whole pathology report to me here. I may be able to tell you more based on that. Even better chances if you also include your CT & MRI scan reports and any PET scan reports if any such exist.
