Question
my dad is 70 years old and had surgery to remove a gbm brain tumor in July of 07. It was a grade 4. He had radaition and chemo since. 2 weeks ago a small leasion came back and they did gammma knife to try to stop it. Know he is losing some function in his right leg. Does it have to do with the gamma knife? Is there any new treatment or hope out there. He had surgery at Barrows in Phoenix AZ and we still go out there for checkups. I am just trying to find out some new info.
Thanks

Answer
I'm sorry to read about his and your problems. His function problems may be due to his tumor relapse, his GammaKnife treatment or both. Unfortunately the treatment situation for a GBM grade 4 is as bleak as before. Very little - if anything at all - is happening. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you!
