Brain Tumors/arachnoid cyst and chiari

Question
Hi there-  Very long story short, I have no faith in the neurosurgeon that I met with and dont trust much of what he said to me.  Please tell me how a 1 inch superior cerebellar arachnoid cyst and chiari 1 malformation may affect me.  Should I seek another dr's opinion because much of the info I read points out the potential seriousnous of the issue.... or is it better to leave the cyst alone and just suffer the headaches, etc, that they both cause? thank you! (I realize this may not be your expertise, but please just let me know what you generally think to be true.  thanks)

Answer
Sorry, an arachnoid cyst is not a brain tumor in a strict sense, so unfortunately your question is outside my area of expertise here. This is a question for a neurosurgeon, which I'm not. I'm a medical oncologist & radiation therapist with experience of treating (malignant) brain tumors. So I strongly suggest that you direct this question to an expert of neurosurgery.
