Question
QUESTION: I realize that the chances of living 3 yrs plus with a true GBM are not good...
however, why do you say that it is 100 percent death probability ??

are there not people on the web who are 7, 9 , 10 years out from dx ? or are
they all mis dx ?  surely you have to give a little more hope / wiggle room ?

ANSWER: I'm sorry in ALL well documented GBM cases you have a 100% death rate usually within one or 2 years of observation time. This is also what you find in all text books. Unfortunately you can not trust everything on the web! I have to give the well documented truth here or I'm not doing my job properly!

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: I personally know of a person who has a clearly documented GBM and is in
his 3rd year since dx...... doing pretty well, he has some deficits but overall
ok.... I think you should refrain from dispensing information from "text
books" and offer  some "real time" current results from Sloan, Anderton,
Duke, etc.... real people with real 2008 results........the very reckless way in
which you dispense 2nd hand dx.... is disappointing.....

Answer
If you think I'm only using "second hand" knowledge from old text books you are unfortunately very much mistaken! I also base it on direct information from university clinics! Please observe that I'm talking about WELL DOCUMENTED cases! Some brain tumors are VERY hard to diagnose! In such cases there is a lot of uncertainty! Do you think providing false hope is a good way of doing things?!
