Question
Hi ,my friend has a grade 4 and he had an operation to try to remove it in feb ,had 6 wks chemo and radio therapy combined every day.he had another scan at the end of treatment but told it had grown severely and is larger than it was before the treatment.
he is now unable to walk more than a few steps without shaking and needing to sit down because he would collaps.
He also has headaches still and sleeps a lot .
can you give me an idea of his survival time ?i live 300 miles away from him and try to visit him as often as i can but am worried i wont get to see him again ,i plan to go back at the beginning of august.
Thank you Maz

Answer
I'm sorry to read about his - and your - problems! Unfortunately it is impossible to predict survival times with any accuracy. All I can say is that his survival time probably can be measured in months. The more he sleeps the closer to the end you get. Eventually he will drift into a coma and then pass away. As long as he is still awake at least part of the time you still have time. But I can not guarantee that he will last till August though usually survival time is around one year from primary treatment. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you!
