Question
QUESTION: my husband was diagnosed with GBM IV 7 wks ago - he had an op to remove most of tumour and he starts radio/chemo next wk.  He is very fit - 39 yrs old, does not drink or smoke.  Please tell me there is some hope.  I gave birth to our son 4 days before diagnosis - he has much to live for.

ANSWER: I'm very sorry to read about your problems. Unfortunately I do not have much hope to offer. These tumors do have a very bad prognosis unfortunately. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you! But I always stick to the truth here.

QUESTION: there are `miracle` stories though aren`t there?  I know not many but they are out there.

Answer
Yes there are a few, but how truthful is unfortunately quite another matter! Sometimes they may be due to a misdiagnosis too. Braintumors are sometimes hard to diagnose correctly. But a correctly diagnosed GBM grade IV (4) has a very bad prognosis indeed regardless of what treatment that is given!
