Question
Dr. Nordquist,
My husband was diagnosed in October 2006; resection July 2007; radiation Sept. 2007; and completed cycle 7 out of 24 of Temodar.  His latest MRI showed change, our medical team wants to wait 4 weeks to rescan to determine if the change is an effect of treatment of recurrence.  How can physicians determine the nature of an MRI change when there are so many variable to assess?  For more information about our situation please visit our project to recovery website, http://ericott.pbwiki.com

Answer
Yes that is hard but for a good explanation you should direct this question to an expert of diagnostic neuroradiology which I'm not. I'm a medical oncologist & radiation therapist with experience of treating brain tumors. After checking your web site I doubt too that I can cotribute with much here as you already have such a big, talented and prominent team involved in this most distressing matter.
