Question
Hi my question is my husband just had a tumor removed in the frontal lobe area ( astrocytoma grade 2)  he also developed alot of fluid after they removed the draining tubes and to go back and put 2 more cathaters to remove fluid also got infection outside the brain (staph) now once thats gone they will insert a shunt  what do you think life expectancy could possibly be he is 37 years old with all these complications?

Answer
I'm not a neurosurgeon, I'm a medical oncologist and radiation therapist with experience of treating brain tumors. If there had been no surgical complications I would have been willing to answer. But in this situation with surgical complications I think you should direct this question to an expert of neurosurgery.
