Question
MY BROTHER IS IN HIS 30S AND HAD A BLEED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF HIS BRAIN AFTER SURGERY IT TURNED OUT TO BE A MELANOMA TUMOR WHICH THEY SAID HEY REMOVED HE THEN HAD 5 BLASTS OF RADIATION THIS IS HIS 2ND MAJOR SURGERY HE IS NOW TRYIN TO REGAIN HIS SPEECH AND MOBILITY BACK REALISTICALLY WHAT ARE HIS CHANCES OF THIS CANCER RETURNING IF IT IS IN FACT GONE AND HIS CHANCES OF BEATING THIS AND WHAT CAN WE DO TO MAKE SURE HE IS GETTIN THE BEST POSSIBLE TREATMENT

Answer
Unfortunately no better treatment is available anywhere. Malignant melanomas are usually not very sensitive to radiation therapy & chemotherapy. And since his melanoma has spread to his brain he is now a stage 4 cancer case which in principle at present is incurable so his prognosis is very bad. Unfortunately it is more or less a sure thing that his cancer will return - in his brain and/or elsewhere - and I estimate that his remaining survival time even with surgery etc at most can be measured in months, certainly not in years. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you!
