Question
My dad had surgery for melanoma on his back 12 years ago and has just been dx with several tumors on his brain. He is scheduled to have a bx this week to see what they are dealing with since his PET Scan was normal. There was no radation with prior surgery. Is there anything else that we need to ask the Oncologist or Neurosurgeon before surgery? Thanks for your time.

Answer
There is of course a high probability that this has to do with his earlier malignant melanoma. But only a biopsy can tell us if that assumption is correct or not. Since he has several tumors in his brain it is likely that what he has are metastases from a malignant process somewhere else and his melanoma is then the prime suspect.
Please do keep me posted!
