Question
My brother has a grade 4 glioblastoma ,It was found April of 2008, when he had a seizure, My question is time line. He has had all the treatment radiation, chemo, In less than a year another was found and they done the gamma knife type treatment . He is no longer taking any more treatments . He got worse after the treatment and his steroids was increased to 24 ,He is doing better now. sleeping a little more sometimes ,But he still gets up during the night .and is still going out every day. His vision is bad and he has really put on weight. When they increased his steroids from 8 to 16 he only had about 2 good weeks then they increased them to 24mg. He lives with me and I would like to know what to expect and how long the steroids last and how much can they be increased . Thank you in advance.

Answer
There are no sure exact answers to those questions. But ONLY his drs. should decide how much he should take! With this diagnosis his prognosis is bad unfortunately. Probable survival time after primary treatment is around one to two years. he will probably sleep more and more over time. When he sleeps all the time his end will unfortunately be near. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you.
