Expert: Claes-Gustaf Nordquist, M.D. - 6/7/2009

Question
my dad had a stroke about seven weeks ago it turned out that he had a bleed from a tumor on the brain three infact. he is now paralysed in the left leg, he has had five days intense radiotherapy to shrink the growth we find out on thursday if it has worked. he has had no other signs, will he start to deteriorate could u tell me more about this as i know nothin about it an my family are keepin quiet thankyou i will appreciate ur answer

Answer
This is a rather typical way for this kind of tumor to show its presence. Over time he will become more & more confused. He may show more stroke like symptoms and signs and even epileptic fits. He will sleep more and more. When he sleeps all the time his end is near. He will drift into a coma and then pass away. There will be little pain - if indeed any.
