Question My father had a seizure & was sent to the hospital where he went through two major surgery's which one was a tumor that was at the front right hand side pushing against his brain (the size of a orange cut in half). I thought he was doing pretty well but he is hearing things out side and he thinks people are getting into his truck & trying to carry his stuff off, and he also hears the different noises like the dryer & he thinks some one is in the house or is trying to get in. Is all this normal for someone after surgery & if so how long will this last.(He is 72 & he has been home for 2 weeks).
Answer Sorry, this is a question for a neurosurgeon or a neurologist. I'm a medical oncologist & radiation therapist with experience of treating brain tumors (radiation therapy & chemotherapy) but I'm not a surgeon. From your description it also seems that this was not a true brain tumor but a meningioma (tumor of the lining of the brain). So you must unfortunately discuss this with his dr. as it is outside my area of expertise here.
